Brexit Beauty – A Girl’s Guide to Stimulating the Economy

Brexit Beauty – A Girl’s Guide to Stimulating the Economy

Women and the ‘Pink Pound’ have considerable purchasing power in the beauty and cosmetics industry. A sector which remains relatively resistant to economic downturns and is set for continued growth into 2017 and beyond.

Great Britain has no lack of ethical and natural beauty brands made on home turf. So now that Article 50 has been triggered, there is no better a time to buy British goods and services; to ensure U.K companies thrive outside of The European Single Market.

So without further ado here are my top 5 picks for British made beauty to keep you looking and smelling fresh during those pesky divorce proceedings.

1. Bee Good

Bee Good’s claim to fame is that they are the only British premium skincare brand to exclusively use British beeswax, honey and propolis in all their products. Bee Good is not only British made but even its tiny workforce adheres to Brexiteers cries for ‘British jobs for British workers’ – even if these Brits are just Bees.

The Natural Deodorant Company is perfect for the pungent protectionist. Let’s not forget Mr Tusk said Brexit will feature “no cakes on the table, for anyone… only salt and vinegar”. So what better a way to mask the odour than with the Vanilla & Manuka Honey Balm. After all, a spoonful of sugar helps the medicine go down.

Distant memory of British politics and referendum architect, David Cameron, once told us to ‘hug a hoodie’. Instead we can kiss the E.U goodbye with the softest lips outside The Single Market. Fairfield Gardens produces and packages its lip products in the U.K using British grown ingredients, all of which are cruelty free (Eco-warrior bonus points included).

4. PHB Ethical Beauty

The list of awards and ethical certifications PHB Beauty has is almost too long to list. But the Vegan, Organic & Halal seal of approval alone will be enough to appease any Europhile. With a huge range of products all handmade in the U.K what’s not to like? Why not try their Anti-aging Moisturiser with Monoï Oil and Gardenia, to keep you looking as young as you did on June 23rd once we are 10 years into the divorce

Neal’s Yard focus on remedies, so naturally they have a plethora of products to help the weary and travel tired trade deal negotiator. Perhaps no surprise they have recently launched the ‘Goodnight Pillow Mist’ to their range. However the French Lavender may put some Brexiteers off (don’t tell Nigel).

I am not affiliated or sponsored by any of the above brands. Products featured are from my own personal beauty cabinet.
